A Wyoming school district recently trained fifth and sixth graders in basic marksmanship, turning their school gymnasium into a shooting range for the PE lesson.
Hot Springs County School District #1 in Thermopolis, Wyoming, posted on Facebook photos of the marksmanship class showing young students aiming aim air rifles at a target propped up against bleachers in their school gym.
While the school took down the original post because some people found it “offensive,” the YouTube channel “Deer Blinds and Fishing Lines” — which aims to teach others about hunting and fishing — shared the photos on their own Facebook page.
“Hot Springs County School District #1 is definitely doing it right! The more kids who learn firearm safety the better! Less accidents happen with proper teaching!” the post stated. “Mr. Deromedi’s 5/6th PE classes are working on their marksmanship with air rifles! All students passed their safety test and have been sharpening their skills. #307Bobcats.”
According to the Idaho Statesman, the original post said every student “passed their safety test” and that each student has “been sharpening their skills.”
Superintendent Dustin Hunt and board chairman Sherman Skelton said that while they regret offending anyone with the post, the three-week air rifle course makes sense for the students of Hot Springs County School District.
“One of the many beauties of public education is that locally elected school boards help shape curriculum to match community norms and needs,” the pair said in a statement to McClatchy News. “In Wyoming, the vast majority of households have firearms. It is important for students to safely learn about and respect things they will encounter in their everyday lives.”
The statement noted that students are not required to participate in the marksmanship lessons, and an “alternative assignment” is available.
“To date, no students have requested an alternate unit or assignment,” the statement added.
The class comes as the number of high school shooting teams grows nationwide. According to TIME, participation in extracurricular shooting squads has skyrocketed over the last several years.
In 2015, 9,245 students, in 317 schools in three states, participated in the USA High School Clay Target League. Participation has since spiked 137 percent, with 21,917 students, from 804 teams in 20 states — including New York and California — competing in 2018.
“It took me out of my bubble,” former high school shooting team member, 19-year-old Sydney Gilbertson, told TIME. “I owe my confidence to trap. It’s the best thing I did in high school. If this were taken away from kids … I don’t know what I would have done.”

Moreover, he said JAG procured an email Sotomayor had sent to Dr. Anthony Fauci on Thursday, January 6. “You know, Tony, I’ll do everything in my power to ensure the current mandates stay in place, as per CDC guidelines,” were her words. The next day Sotomayor made a significant false claim about Covid’s impact on children, saying at a congressional hearing that over 100,000 American children were hospitalized and critically ill with Covid-19, an assertion so outrageous that even her Deep State allies had to rebuke it.
“We don’t believe she just accidentally said 100,000, but she definitely jumped the shark in proposing the absurd figure. Had she lied and said 10,000, no one would’ve blinked an eye. She zestfully got carried away. She had no legitimate reason for corresponding with Fauci, though, and it’s a direct conflict of interest. Bottom line is she committed treason, and that’s why JAG was compelled to act,” our source said.
JAG, he added, shared its findings with Marine Corps Gen. David H. Berger, commanding officer of the U.S. military’s “White Hat” partition, and requested his help in apprehending the criminal judge.
“Gen. Berger reviewed the military arrest warrant and said he’d act on it ASAP,” our source said.
ASAP came in the predawn hours Wednesday, when an unspecified number of U.S. Marines breached her lavish D.C. condominium after disabling an alarm system and ensuring she was home alone, as intelligence had shown. Sotomayor was reportedly asleep in bed when Marines subdued her using non-lethal force.

Gov Abbott has been in office for quite some time, and he has seen some successes during his time in office. That was all well and good, until the serious sink-or-swim tests of leadership came along.
Bureaucrats in labcoats at all levels of government were calling for a slew of unconstitutional mandates, Gov Abbott faced one set of leadership crises with the Chinavirus. Before that had a chance to resolve, Abbott faced another set of leadership crises with an open-borders radical in Government who faced no pushback on his efforts to trample the rights of Americans — including many Texans.
When Texans were asked last July who it was they would support, Abbott held a commanding lead. To say West was facing an uphill battle was an understatement.
In the hypothetical poll between Abbott and West, the majority (73 percent) of voters said they would vote for the governor, while only 17 percent said they would vote for West. Fewer respondents (ten percent) said they were undecided.
Of those decided voters, Victory Insight, the polling company, determined that 71 percent of the undecided voters leaned in favor of Abbott over West. This means 81 of the respondents would have chosen Abbott. – Breitbart

New polling data carried out for one his GOP opponents suggests that Texas Governor Greg Abbott is facing a potential defeat in the Republican gubernatorial primary by Lieutenant Colonel Allen West.
A recent poll conducted by Paradigm Partners for West’s campaign shows Abbott with just 32.52 percent support among likely Republican primary voters in the state, behind former Texas GOP chair Allen West on 38.36 percent.
The poll differs starkly from other polls published late last year that appeared to show the Republican primary race was uncompetitive. It suggested that Abbott’s support rating peaked at 56 percent in October 2021. The survey also showed other challengers trailing both Abbott and West, with third place Ricky Lynn Perry recording 12.06 percent support.
Abbott has faced extensive criticism from his own party for his handling of the winter storm, border security, COVID lockdowns, critical race theory, face mask mandates, and transgender children. Others have expressed dissatisfaction at Abbott’s choice of political director, Mitch Carney.

West had served as a member of the House of Representatives for Florida’s 22nd congressional district from 2011 to 2013 and later relocated to Texas, where he was elected chair of the Republican Party of Texas in 2020. He resigned from that position on June 4, 2021 and subsequently announced a bid for governor.
“In a crowded field, the obvious choice for those who hope to see Governor Abbot unseated by a ‘Texas First’ conservative outsider is Lt. Col. Allen West,” the West campaign’s statement said. “Texas deserves true conservative leadership that will end the invasion at the border, stop the mutilation of children at the altar of gender dysphoria, and end the sex slavery crisis that is engulfing every part of Texas from our quiet border towns to the sprawls of Dallas and Houston.”
The victor of the Republican primary is widely expected to face Democrat and former U.S. Representative Beto O’Rourke in November.
